Psychological Counseling,
CBT and EMDR Therapy

Hello!

If you’ve come across my website, you may be looking for help with some difficulty in your life. Perhaps you feel anxious or low, experience panic attacks, or are struggling with relationships. Maybe it’s hard to overcome procrastination, low self-esteem, or excessive self-criticism. Perhaps you’re currently going through a significant loss, a life crisis, or still feel the effects of an earlier traumatic experience. In situations like these, psychotherapy can help.

In my private practice, I work mainly with adults – individually and with couples – as well as with teenagers. I offer psychological counseling and psychotherapy both in person in central Riga and online. In my work, I use evidence-based psychotherapy approaches and methods.

It’s important to me to first listen to you and together understand what’s causing difficulties right now and what you would like to change. I believe you know your own life best, while I can offer my professional knowledge and experience so that together we can find a path toward better wellbeing and quality of life.

I look forward to being by your side on this journey!

Who I Work With

In my practice, I work with adults and teenagers who experience various emotional, psychological, and relationship difficulties. It is not always necessary to know exactly or be able to name your problem – sometimes a person simply feels that their previous ways of coping with difficulties no longer work and that change is needed.

I most often work with:
Anxiety, excessive worry, and panic attacks;
fears and phobias;
low mood, symptoms of depression, and lack of motivation;
difficulties regulating emotions;
low self-esteem, self-criticism, feelings of guilt and shame;
procrastination and difficulty changing habitual patterns of behavior;
relationship difficulties and recurring relationship patterns;
life crises, loss, and grief;
the effects of traumatic experiences;
difficulty adjusting to significant life changes;
prolonged stress and burnout;
difficulty better understanding yourself, your needs, boundaries, and relationships with others.
I also work with couples experiencing difficulties in communication, recurring conflicts, emotional distancing, or other relationship issues.

Difficulties I Do Not Work With as a Primary Concern

My practice does not specialize in the treatment of alcohol and other substance addictions, so in cases where addiction is the main problem, I recommend turning to a specialist or treatment facility that specializes in addiction treatment.

Likewise, I have not specialized in the diagnosis and therapy of autism spectrum disorders, when autism-related difficulties are the main reason a person is seeking help. This does not rule out the possibility of working together if a person with an autism spectrum disorder needs help with other difficulties, such as anxiety, depression, or a life crisis.
